Description
This qualification forms part of the QA Health and Safety suite of qualifications. The qualification and learning outcomes are based on the recommendations of good practice outlined by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). This qualification develops Learners’ basic awareness of working at height. It includes understanding the importance of equipment and how to make sure the working environment is safe when working at height. This qualification specification provides information to Centers regarding the delivery of the QA Level 2 Award in Working at Height (RQF) and includes the unit information, assessment methods and quality assurance arrangements.
The objective of the qualification is to benefit Learners by raising awareness in the use of ladders, step ladders, harnesses, and a variety other equipment/principle that are used for working at height. Learners will focus on the safety considerations, legal obligations, hierarchy of control measures and reporting procedures for defective equipment. The purpose of this qualification is to prepare the Learner for further learning or continuing professional development in the area of working at height.
This regulated and nationally recognised qualification has been specifically designed to provide Learners with a greater awareness in the use of ladders, step ladders, harnesses and a variety of other equipment that is used when working at height.
Intended Audience
The QA Level 2 Award in Working at Height (RQF) is ideal for those who work or are aspiring to work in environments that involve safe working at height, such as building and construction workers, agricultural workers, factory and warehouse workers, forestry workers and more.
Course Overview
During this 3 hour course, Learners will develop a basic awareness of working at height, focusing on key principles such as: safety considerations, legal obligations, hierarchy of control measures, reporting procedures for defective equipment and much more. Age Requirement:
The minimum age required for this course is 14 years.

This is a ½ day course consists of theory and practical training.

- Understanding legislation, regulation, roles and responsibilities working at height.

- Understand the types of equipment and testing requirements associated with working at height.
Assessment / Test
1 x 15 Multiple Choice Question Paper (Theory assessment).
On successful completion of the training programme, a “Level 2 Award in Working at Height”. This qualification is valid for 3 years.
